1972 Corvette Stingray Convertible Roadster Original for sale in El Dorado Hills, California

1972 Corvette Stingray Convertible Roadster
This is an excellent example of the 1972 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Considered and ?End of an Era? car, this Stingray is absolutely beautiful! Chrome 3 bumper with egg crate grills complete this original Corvette. This is 1 of 327 produced in 1972.
I have had this car for 13 years, have taken excellent care of it and spared no expense.
Per the Corvette Black Book everything is original with matching numbers. A very few modifications have been tastefully done and outlined below.
The body is flawless with original bond beams, bumpers, badging, glass, chrome etc.
The suspension has been reworked including all bushings and the addition of Bilstein gas shocks. The rally rims, trim rings and center caps are intact and on a new set of 4 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. The interior also is extremely clean and original with one small crack in the left dash top speaker grill.
A few years back I also had a complete brake job performed. The original engine is tight and runs strong as does the factory Muncie 4 speed close ratio transmission. Everything has numbers and matches the book. When I say ?everything? I mean everything. Block, heads, transmission, alternator, rear end, brakes, axles, exhaust all the way back and so on front to rear. Everything works perfectly as it should. There are absolutely no issues with this car. The 350 CID L48 engine is also original and numbered. The engine compartment is accurate and complete with original factory (non replicated) decals.
What's not original are as follows:
The steering wheel (but the original goes with the car)
1. The stereo-upgraded to a Panasonic CD that fits into the original dash with NO modifications. MB Quarts 3 way titanium tweeter speakers have been added to both custom made & color matched front kick panels (very clean) and a set of JL Audio 12 subs in a custom made, color matched rear cabinet with a Rockford Fosgate 600 watt amplifier.
2. An Edelbrock intake manifold has been installed mated to a Holley 650 Dual Feed carburetor.
3. 5 years ago when I had the heads done to factory specs I had an LT1 cam installed.
4. A Hurst Shifter has been installed.
5. An electronic pointless ignition has been added to the original distributor.
This car received a body-off restoration in the late 80's and the #972 Classic White factory paint looks great as does the the #412 Blue stock interior.
The factory white soft top is complete and original but will need to be replaced to be brought to 100%. The original Astro Glass is, as it should be. The ODO reads 27,XXX miles. The tachometer needle has come loose and will require attention if you want it perfect.
Factory Options on this Base Convertible Roadster are:
Custom Interior Trim
ZQ1 Optional Rear Axle Ratio (4:11)
J50 Power Brakes
M21 4 Speed Close Ratio Transmission
N40 Power Steering
I have loved this car for years and driven it little in an attempt to keep the mileage down but it does get out on Sundays to keep everything moving. That and I can't help it... The exhaust note is wonderful and the lope of the cam draws one for a need to run her. It's been in several classic car shows and parades and has never fallen short in turning heads.
I've done my best to describe everything accurately and do not profess to be an expert but am a well read enthusiast that pays extreme attention to detail. GM keys and the Owners Manual go with it along with several publications that I have collected over the years. Receipts also accompany the sale.
This is not some ?heavily modified beater car?. It's a numbered original classic in excellent original condition. I'm not in a situation that would necessitate the sale. By that, realistic offers will be entertained but I will not respond to ridiculous ?low ball? offers.
Please feel free to email questions and or request hi-res photos. The car can be seen at my residence by appointment.
The selling price is reasonable and is set at $29,995.00. The current insured and estimated value, per the insurance carrier is $54,000.00.
Thanks,
Dave Cox
